About AmyBeth
Thank you for visiting the Paradise Blessed Beginnings page. Due to an injury I am not currently taking new clients. I am happy to answer questions/provide information via messenger/text/email/phone, and to provide referrals to other local doulas. I also have an extensive library of books related to pregnancy, birth, postpartum, & baby care that I am happy to share.
My name is AmyBeth Ahl-Wright. I live in Paradise, CA with my husband and four children ages 7 1/2 years old, 12 years old, 13 1/2 years old & 16 1/2 years old. I had natural births in a hospital with my three older children, a home birth with my youngest, and another hospital birth with my surrogate birth. My birthing experiences have led me to pursue a profession supporting & serving women: as a DONA-trained birth doula, as a postpartum doula, and as a Placenta Encapsulation Specialist. I am passionate about women, their ability to birth as they desire, and supporting them in their births and during the postpartum period.
Family is my priority and I enjoy spending time with my children, and in addition to my birth related work I also work full-time with families. Although we lead a busy life, we try to leave time to enjoy life's simple pleasures.. My husband is currently a stay-at-home-dad, which enables me to be on-call with short notice. I graduated from CSU Chico in May 2012. I majored in Multi-Cultural & Gender Studies with an emphasis in Women's Studies & Ethics, and a minor in Child Development. I completed Placenta Encapsulation Specialist Training through Placenta Benefits.info in 2011. I look forward to continuing to support & empower women (and families) in their childbirth choices & experiences, as well as during the postpartum period.
